I love Lake Powell. I especially love the opportunity to spend time with my close friends and family while being completely unplugged (well, sorta) from the outside world. My family loves to play in the water, wake board, water ski, surf, tube, and my favorite—float around on an inner tube while just basking in the sun.

What? We get to go to Powell?! |
It really is heavenly, but it is a lot of work when you are the host. I have to feed these people! I need to make sure they are ALWAYS having fun, and I need to make sure that the water is just right for their adventures at Lake Powell.
This year was different. Oh, I still worked hard at being the perfect hostess, but I also slept in, let others do the cooking and really enjoyed myself. It was so nice to just relax under the stars at night.
It's Tuesday though, and I am still a little tuckered. So as much as I tried to relax, I'm barely coming out of the coma that Powell seems to induce on me each year.

We got to bring these yahoos with us. We loved every minute of it. |
Lily having some mommy time. |
She loves that daddy of hers. |
Three out of the four sisters were able to make it this year... including our hats. Of course, we immediately made fun of each other while wearing them.
Rollin is our resident stuntman and teacher to all. We are always lucky to have him and his family come show us how it's really done. |
The set up. Lots of boats and oodles of air conditioning.
The kids channeling Dalton, who was unable to join us this year since he is serving a two year mission in Jacksonville, Mississppi. This is a fine young man who will be missed immensely by our family. We sure love this amazing kid... and so do this kiddos. |
If you have never been to Lake Powell, find a way to make it a family vacation at least once. It really is one of the most beautiful places in the United States to visit.
We're always glad to get back to the houseboat after a day of playing in the water. |
This is the reason that we come. We love it when the kids are having the time of their lives. |
Martin was like a kid in a candy shop when this boat arrived on the scene.
Our friend, Greg's boat. He came clear across the lake from Bullfrog (the Utah side) over to our end (the Arizona side) one day for a visit. What would usually take about 3.5 hours to get to us in a regular boat, only took him 45 mins. It's that fast. He gave each of us a ride in it as it hit upwards to 110 mph. The best Disneyland ride ever. |
My bro-in-law (center) too giddy for words. |
My nieces and nephews.
We call this "baby diaper" time. We usually take the kids on a picnic and then put on our baby diapers, get in the water, and play football or frisbee in the water. Mainly we do it because the adults look really funny in them. Especially me. |
Tubing is still all they want to ever do. Round and round and round. |
Marcel, conquered the wake board this trip. |
This is what I am talking about. Look at the landscape. Just beautiful. |
Too much sun makes for sleepy teenagers. |
Hole In the Rock. Read about it's history here. |
My sister, Courtney, and her family were troopers. It must have been 102 degrees that day, but they still made it to the top. |
Martin and our friend, Arnold, watching the boats while everyone climbs Hole In the Rock. We've done it a few times, so we decided to just "watch" this time. |
Lily finally loves being in the water. A first for her this trip. |
My cute niece, Lexi. |
Lily REALLY loving the water as long as dad is holding on tight. |
The girls enjoying the day... and the HOT sun. My little helpers.
Every houseboat needs helpers like these three. |
No trip is complete without our teenagers. Wow, I love these kids. |
Exploring. This arch was pretty amazing.
Cathedral canyon and sleepy Ashley. |
My cute little nieces. |

Past trips bring back so many wonderful memories...
My mom and lil' sis, Chelsey.
Me and my attempt to jump the wake.
Martin skiing. |
No trip is complete without me planting one of these on Martin.
Cliff jumping.
More cliff jumping. My sis, Chelsey and our dearest friends Laura and Cat. I love how Chelsey is pretending that she is terrified. Funny.
At the begginning of each trip, the annual slide-to-tube trick. The kids are pros. |
Rainbow Bridge. A must see for first-timers.
How I truly feel by the end of the week. Someone get me a bed. |
Guess what? In a few weeks, I get to do this all over again. Round 2. Frey family reunion at Lake Powell!
